MEDICARE ADVANCE PAYMENTS

Eligibility: To qualify for advance/accelerated payments the provider/supplier must:

• Have billed Medicare for claims within 180 days immediately prior to the date of signature on the provider’s/supplier’s request form

• Not be in bankruptcy

• Not be under active medical review or program integrity investigation

• Not have any outstanding delinquent Medicare overpayments.

Amount of Payment Available: 

• Most providers and suppliers will be able to request up to 100% of the Medicare payment amount for a three-month period.

How to Apply:

• You must apply through the Medicare intermediary in your state.

    EXAMPLES - New York, Connecticut – NGS;

                          New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Delaware - Novitas

Processing Time:

• Each intermediary will review and look to process payments within 7 business days

Repayment:

• Repayment begins 120 days after you receive payment and you have 90 days from that date to pay it back. You either send a check or Medicare will re-coup from future payments
